The new students of academic session 2025-26 for the Faculty of Science, Bachelors and All Masters Courses were welcomed through a grand Induction Program, “Deeksharambh 2025” on 2nd September, 2025 held in LT-B Pharmacy, Ground Floor, Pharmacy Building, Era University. The Student Induction Program (SIP) was held according to the SAGE model of UGC with emphasis on socializing, associating, governing and experiencing. The Induction will be followed by six days of Orientation and Foundation Course.
The hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Abbas Ali Mahdi in his address, motivated the students by saying that he looks forward to having a fruitful association with the new students and when they pass-out of Era University, they will be the Institution’s ‘brand ambassadors’. Prof. Mahdi stressed the importance of discipline and punctuality with 100 percent attendance on campus and inculcation of love for one’s profession which is required to perform well and excel. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor spoke about the legacy of Era University as a Medical Institution when it’s foundation was laid around 25 years back, now grown into a full-fledged autonomous University around nine years back.
Dean, Pharmacy, Prof. S.J.S. Flora addressed the students saying that ‘student life’ is a critical phase in life as one learns self-discipline during these years which helps them to shape their future career with maturity and respect. Dean, Science, Prof. A.K. Srivastava welcomed the students by briefing them about the various departments and courses in the Faculty of Science. Also, he spoke about the importance of learning effective English spoken and written communication as it is the medium of instruction and also the medium of examination. He threw light on the New Education Policy and how it is being implemented at Era University. He discussed about the varied choice of subjects offered by the Department of Liberal Education. Dean, Allied Health Science and Research, Prof. Riaz Mehdi discussed the importance of making effective dissertations during PG studies as it lays the foundation of entering the academic field. He told the students about the existing Allied Paramedical Faculty on the Era Campus. Also he discussed the different departments and courses under the faculty. He spoke about the importance of regular biometric attendance for students. The Proctor, Prof. Dilshad Ali Rizvi spoke about the importance of good behavior on campus to save students from any punishment. He stressed on the importance of discipline on campus. The Assistant Controller of Examination, Dr. Sheeba Rizvi addressed the students and discussed the examination policy of Era University. She guided the students about examination pattern in the institution. Assistant Dean, Science (Medical), Prof. Brijesh Rathore spoke about becoming a competent post graduate by focus on ‘Knowledge’, ‘Skills’ and ‘Attitude’. The Induction program was concluded by a vote of thanks by Dr. Rupali Mirza, Chairperson, Induction-Orientation, Era University and Head, Department of English. The event was compered by Dr. Saleha Jafri. The Chairperson thanked all the people who were instrumental in making the program successful including her own team members, namely, Dr. Minhaj Usmani, Dr. Saleha Jafri, Dr. Shazia Fatima, Dr. Shipra Srivastava, Mr. Ajaydeep Singh, Ms. Jyoti Anurag and Ms. Laiba Rind. The Induction program was graced by other dignitaries; namely Prof. Krishna Dutt, Prof. Usman, Dr. Tabrez Jafar, Dr. Kahkashan Parveen, Dr. Tanzeem Siddiqui, Dr. Mohd Abbas and coordinators from various departments.
