The 6th Annual State Conference of Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology (UP-TROPACON 2025) was organized by the Department of Microbiology at Era’s Lucknow Medical College and Hospital and it was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr. (Prof.) Alok Dhawan – Director, CBMR.
On the occasion Prof. Dhawan was felicitated by the Vice Chancellor of Era University, Prof. Dr. Abbas Ali Mahdi for his outstanding contributions to toxicology and translational research.
Prof. Mahdi welcomed the guests and delegates attending the conference from different parts of the state. In his address he also highlighted the progress made by Era's Lucknow Medical College during the last twenty five years.
The host team headed by Dr. (Prof.) Vineeta Khare, with Organizing Secretary-Prof Dr Shadma Yaqoob and Prof Dr Priyanka Shukla welcomed Dr. (Prof.) Tuhina Banerjee – President, UP Chapter IATP, Dr. (Prof.) Ujjala Ghoshal – National Secretary, IATP, and Dr. Manodeep Sen- Secretary, UP Chapter IATP.
The National President of IATP, Dr. Prof. S.C.Parijas insightful message was delivered by Dr. Ghoshal.
The Principal & CMS of ELMC&H Dr. Jamal Masood also addressed the inaugural function.
In his address Dr. Dhawan highlighted the importance of tropical parasitology in public health.
