International Women's Day celebration at Era University

 

Era University celebrated International Women's Day on campus with the Department of Physiotherapy, Era's Institute of Allied Health Sciences & Research. Mrs. Jagriti, founder of MARS, A city-based rehabilitation institute also participated in the function. Children with special abilities of C.P., Autism, Down's Syndrome & various other neuro-developmental disorders showcased their talents of singing, dancing, quiz etc. "Ramp walk" organized for the mothers of special children was the highlight of the event. Students of the Department of Physiotherapy staged a play based on the life and difficulties faced by parents & children with disabilities.

Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr.) Abbas Ali Mahdi inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp & extended a word of encouragement and blessings for special children and their mothers. He highlighted the role & importance of women in our society and also emphasized on women empowerment. Chief Guest, Anupma Maurya, Deputy Director, Divyangjan Shaskatikaran Department, Lucknow Division was also present among the dignitaries.

Prof. Ashok Kumar Sharma, Dean & Director, Era's Institute of Allied Health Sciences gave his vision of changing the liabilities into national assets by incorporating people with disabilities in our system.

Dr. Sumit Asthana, H.O.D, Department of Physiotherapy and other faculties of the University; Dr. Shallabh Kumar Singh, Dr. Anupama Dhuria as well as students of the Department of Physiotherapy also attended the event. Other esteemed guests were; Heads of Disability Institutes, renowned social activists, clinical psychologists, counselors and doctors of Era's Lucknow Medical College.
